Communities We Serve — Hillsborough County, New Hampshire

The primary purpose of your estate plan is to protect what is most important to you — your assets, your loved ones, and yourself. Choosing an estate planning attorney to assist you to create your estate plan can be a daunting prospect considering how important your plan is to you. The estate planning attorneys at DeBruyckere Law Offices in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire are committed to helping you create a comprehensive and cohesive estate plan that will protect everything dear to you as well as help you plan for the future.

Hillsborough County, New Hampshire

Located along the southern border of New Hampshire, Hillsborough County is the most populous county in the state. Covering 892 square miles, the population of Hillsborough County was estimated to be 415,247 as of 2018. Hillsborough is both the most populous and most densely populated county in northern New England.

The Provincial Act of 1769 originally divided the province into five counties, with Hillsborough County being one of the original five. It wasn’t until 1823, however, that the current boundaries of the county were established. At that time, the town of Amherst was also chosen as the county seat because it was the largest farming community. Today, Nashua and Manchester serve as the county seats. Hillsborough County gets its name from Wills Hill, the Earl of Hillsborough who served as the British Secretary of State for the Colonies when the county was established.

Estate planning encompasses much more than just deciding what will happen to your assets when you are gone. It should also protect those assets and help them grow while you are alive as well ensure that they continue to provide for your loved ones when you are gone. The attorneys and staff at DeBruyckere Law Offices are committed to helping our friends and neighbors throughout the Hillsborough County, New Hampshire community create an estate plan that accomplishes each of these goals and many more like them.

Because your estate plan is never really finished, building a lifelong relationship with your estate planning attorney is important. Initially, your primary goal will likely be to ensure that you do not leave behind an intestate estate in the event of your death.  As both your estate and your family grow, however, your estate plan will need to grow along with them. If you get married and/or become a parent, the addition of estate planning tools and strategies designed for parents with minor children will become important.  As your estate grows in both complexity and value, you should consider adding probate and tax avoidance as well as asset protection strategies to your overall estate plan. By middle age, you should also be thinking about long-term care planning which may include Medicaid planning. You will also need to ensure that your existing retirement plan works in harmony with your estate plan to further protect your growing estate.  Finally, you may wish to consider adding advanced directives as well as funeral and burial planning to your estate plan to ensure that your wishes will be honored at the end of your life.

At DeBruyckere Law Offices our goal is to be with you every step of the way along your life’s journey. By developing a life-long relationship with you we ae able to do much more to protect you, your assets, and your loved ones.

Testimonials

I felt complete trust and confidence in Dan DeBruyckere and his staff. They have a caring, low-key approach and there is no pressure to add products to the estate plan; rather he makes me aware of changes in the law, etc. I always learn something new to assist me in our planning!

Your seminar was the only seminar we attended without financial advisors wanting to invest our money instead of protecting it! The information this firm provided was easy to understand even though it is a difficult topic. Thank you for all of your help!
